Payson Road is a project I've been working on for many years.  After spending 20 years of my life struggling with bulimia I finally got pissed-off and sick of being a victim.

This site was started out of frustration.  After a long quest for fruitful resources and support for eating disorders came up empty I felt that something needed to be done.

My intention with this website is to spread the word on eating disorders and give people freedom from their imposed restrictions by offering up a place for creative expression.  Writing and other forms of artistic expression literally saved my life and were key components in my recovery.  I wanted to share this with others and give people who really have something to say a place to say it.

I am not a therapist, nor do I have any formal counseling nor do I intend on representing myself as a counselor.  But I have a story.  As do you and many others you know.  We are not statistics.  We are real people living with a secret.  And that secret is personal and affects each one of us differently.

Persons suffering with these diseases exist in large numbers.   And those numbers are growing every day.  We can no longer ignore the severity of the problem.  Payson Road seeks to help everyone suffering with eating disorders find a forum to discuss and share their experiences and reclaim their wings.  We do not have to suffer alone in silence.  Together we will help each other.

The fight to end Eating Disorders starts with small steps. Take one.

Keep the faith,

xo Sarah
